If you're not familiar with Unreal Engine, it's a developer kit tool that has helped gaming developers on creating many video games. Today, Epic Games released a new Unreal Engine 5 teaser that's coming on 9 December in conjunction with the upcoming The Matrix movie.

In this short teaser, the next-gen Unreal Engine is promoting a tech demo called The Matrix Awakens with Keanu Reeves asking "How do we know what is real?". At first glance, it may look like an ordinary celebrity endorsement promo video but you must take a second look. The Keanu Reeves you see in the teaser is not the real person but rather, created via Unreal Engine 5.

Of course, this is just a tech demo so it's alright if you want to take it with a pinch of salt. However, this gives us a glimpse of Unreal Engine's true potential. According to the description on its YouTube video, " 'The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience' is a wild ride into the reality-bending universe of 'The Matrix' that features performances by Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss".

Furthermore, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S gamers may begin to pre-download The Matrix Awakens right now for free. The Unreal Engine 5 tech demo will be revealed and unlocked when The Game Awards begins on 9 December 2021. You can check out the official web portal right here

In case you didn't know, many popular video games over the years were created with Unreal Engine. For example, Bioshock 1 & 2 was created with the 2nd-gen, so is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Epic Games' own Fortnite and many more. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
