Do you like having multiple monitors surround you? Great news because you can do that with the new Macs powered by Apple's M1 chip. As you know, some YouTubers have the greatest ideas, and one of them decided he wanted to hook up six monitors to a Mac.

Originally, the latest Mac Mini and MacBooks can only support two screens and one screen respectively. But if you know some tricks, as Ruslan Tulupov demonstrated, you can bypass this restriction. The YouTuber managed to connect six external displays to the new M1-powered Mac Mini, as well as five screens to the new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. The solution requires the use of third-party accessories, such as DisplayLink certified adapters (USB Type-A to dual DisplayPorts) and USB Type-C to HDMI adapters.

Overall, it seems that the Mac machines were still able to perform well enough. Of course, you will likely have to adjust the resolution for each display to avoid exceeding the bandwidth limit. But then again, most of you won't need to run that many screens. Just one DisplayLink adapter alone would allow you to hook two extra monitors, though do note that it's a rather expensive adapter and you'll have to install macOS Big Sur compatible drivers for it.

With that said, would this kind of multi-screen setup be useful for you? How many monitors do you normally alongside your Mac computer? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave for more tech news.
