With the recent iOS 14.3 update, the 14.5 beta version is currently underway. Most of the time, iOS versions have a few exciting things to look forward to but 14.5 says otherwise. From the sources, the new update may come with a Face Unlock while wearing a mask, adding gaming controller support and enabling 5G connectivity in dual SIM mode.

Starting with the Face Unlock, Apple is integrating a new way to unlock your iPhone without taking your mask off. However, you would need the Apple Watch as it serves as an extra layer of security. So how this works is the iPhone would do a partial face scan together with the Apple Watch, notifying you that the unlocking is successful.

The other update is adding support for gaming pads, namely the PlayStation 5 DualSense and Xbox Series X controllers. Besides the iPhone, the iPadOS and tvOS next update are included and this is a sweet way for Apple Arcade or iOS mobile gamers to take control. Last but not least, 5G dual-SIM mode (the nano-SIM and eSIM) on the iPhone 12 series are currently in testing and it will be available globally.

The iOS 14.5 public beta will begin soon and it's expected to be released sometime in March 2021. Until then, stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
