Updates to YouTube app makes wireless streaming better

Google sometimes updates things when we don't expect it and one was done for the YouTube mobile app last week. With the latest update comes new features, including voice search, an improved navigation menu, and HDR support added to the Sony PS4 consoles.

The biggest addition has to be the voice search feature, which you can use when casting to a smart TV. It's available to both iOS and Android devices, allowing all users to easily search for content without having to type. Google has also updated the navigation menu on the left to make it easier for users to find things like music or gaming. Support for HDR videos have also been expanded, with the Sony PS4 and PS4 Pro now added to the list.

It would seem that Google really intends for YouTube to become more streaming-friendly with all these changes. In fact, SmartDroid pointed out that the Android version of YouTube actually some simple remote control functions that can be used during wireless casting.
