After parting ways with Sony, Vaio has become an independent brand and continues to serve the laptop market. However, the laptop brand might not be that notable in some of the regions now. To make a change, Vaio has announced that they will be returning to India soon with a mysterious surprise waiting to unfold on 15 January.

It is reported that Hong Kong-based Nexstgo has acquired the licensing rights for the manufacturing, sales, and marketing of Vaio laptops in India. CEO Alex Chung stated that the company is prepared to launch a wide range of finest-quality laptops in the coming three months. With the launch, they aim to expand their distribution network in India and clock a phenomenal growth by 2020. It is worth mentioning that Nexstgo takes care of other Asian markets for Vaio as well in Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and other Middle East markets.

For the laptops, it is said that the first one will be based on AMD’s Ryzen platform. It will be a premium offering that is “designed for the modern office". Furthermore, India's online retailer Flipkart has also been announced to be the official sales partner for Vaio’s comeback.
