Valve has been working on a new project since 2018, could be a new Half-Life game

For Valve, Half-Life seemed to be a series that would no longer be revisited before they announced Half-Life: Alyx as a VR game in 2016. But now there's a possibility that a full-length non-VR Half-Life game may be in development if rumours are true.

According to PC Gamer, Geoff Keighley's new interactive storybook is now on Steam (for RM23.50). It's sort of a behind-the-scenes documentary and it mentions that staff members in Valve are keen on a new Half-Life game that's not made for VR. Instead, they want it to be accessible "across all traditional gaming platforms", suggesting that the goal is to target both PCs and consoles. Keighley also revealed that a small team at Valve have started work on a new secret project in 2018, though whether this is for the Half-Life series is unconfirmed.

More importantly, Valve may not want to invest in developing another Half-Life game. And even if it does, it may not be the Half-Life 3 sequels that fans have been wanting for years. On the flip side, if Valve does go ahead with the development of a new Half-Life title, we can probably expect it to be a full-length game.

Mind you, this is just speculation and we have no idea what Valve's 'secret project' could be. But having said that, what kind of new game are you hoping to see from Valve? Do share your thoughts with us on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
