Valve today announced that it is updating the Steam Mobile App to add new features, which include QR code sign-in, smarter notifications, an improved Library and multi-account support. Rebuilt on a new framework and a modernised design, the Steam Mobile App is now in beta and users can join the beta programme to test it.

In a blog post today, Valve said that the new mobile app still retains features that are available on the current iteration of the Steam Mobile app. Among others, these include browsing the Steam store, getting Steam Guard codes and confirming trades.

According to The Verge which got its hands on the beta app, the Steam Mobile app’s new design does look much more modern than what it currently is. There are also neat refinements such as a navigation bar at the bottom of the app.

If you’re interested in beta testing the Steam Mobile App either on iOS or Android, do sign up via Valve’s official website here. For iOS users, do note that there are a limited number of slots available due to Apple’s TestFlight restrictions.
