A prototype of the vivo NEX 5G was on display during a Xinhua News Agency media conference in China. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset alongside the X50 LTE modem to utilise it's 5G capabilities.

Vivo had confirmed that they were finished with the development of the vivo NEX 5G edition last August which is basically a slightly upgraded version of the original vivo NEX smartphone with tweaks to its architecture, motherboard stacking, RG and antenna design, as well as battery optimization to make it 5G ready.

This isn’t the first time vivo has showcased their 5G smartphone. They’ve done so before over at the 2018 China Mobile Global Partner Conference recently. Vivo is one of the earliest OEM’s to develop 5G in China. Personally, I don’t see Malaysia utilizing 5G technology any time soon but it is pretty awesome to see the growth in technology.
