As mentioned previously, Vivo has officially launched its newest budget 5G smartphone, the Vivo Y400 5G, in India on 4 August 2025. Prices start from 21999 Indian Rupees (~RM1064) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.

A second version with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at 23999 Indian Rupees (~RM1160). They will be made available in two colour options, Olive Green and Glam White.

A mix of Entry-level and midrange Tech specs?

The Vivo Y400 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset which is somewhat entry-level. However, the 6.67-inch AMOLED display has an FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1800 nits.

The phone also comes with an IP68 and IP69 rating for water and dust resistance which isn’t something you often see in lower-midrange devices. No Malaysia release dates prices just yet, but we’re guessing it could come in at around RM1200 or so.

For everyone except the gamers?

Due for release in India on 7 August 2025, the Vivo Y400 5G should offer pretty good battery life thanks to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and 6000 mAh battery.

The upper midrange FHD+ screen should satisfy most movie watchers while the cameras seem decent enough for most photographers. However, this combination of features may make the phone not that suitable for gaming.
