At this moment, China Mobile said they will start its 5G scale-up trials in five cities and 5G application showcase in twelve cities in China. This is to propel the core network transformation and RAN evolution to speed up 5G end-to-end development, as well as promoting the 5G + A.I. innovation. This is based on a two years effort and collaboration with 112 partners such as vivo, for sharing its resources of 5G end-to-end environment in twelve open labs around the world, preparing 5G service and pre-commercial showcase next year.

Since 2016, the company has established a 5G Research and Development Center in Beijing that covers 5G core technologies and standardization studies. Vivo also submitted more than 600 technical proposals of 5G to 3GPP last year, and they also recently started a prototype development of 5G smartphone.

Vivo is planning to participate in the 5G network scale test in the future. Stay tuned for upcoming 5G & AI related news at TechNave.com.
