ARM have released a demo video showcasing how Vulkan, the next-generation graphics engine will save power by efficiently spreading computation across multiple processors. OpenGL clearly processes the video mainly on a single core, requiring more power in the end but you can see that for yourself in the video below. This is especially good news for devices that will be running Android 7.0 Nougat which requires Vulkan to run.
