In an effort to combat misinformation related to SRHR. WHO, together with HRP (Special Programme for Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction, composed of UNDP/UNFPA/UNICEF/WHO/World Bank), launched ChatHRP, a new AI initiative designed to answer critical questions quickly, accurately and based on evidence. So, what should you know about it?
It’s like ChatGPT, but a more accurate version for medical purposes
For your information, thanks to the natural language processing and retrieval-augmented generation technology, ChatHRP is able to provide reference answers in multiple languages, including in areas with weak internet connections. Its information sources are exclusively from WHO and HRP studies and guidelines, making it an authoritative reference for policymakers, researchers, doctors and civil society.
Additionally, ChatHRP not only answers clinical questions such as the use of contraceptives with PrEP or the management of diabetes during pregnancy, but also plays a role in combating false information that often undermines the health system, law and policy.
- “What is the latest violence against women data in Oceania for women aged 15-49?”
- “What are the recommendations for managing diabetes during pregnancy?”
- “Can you give me some things to say about preventing PPH?”
- “Can PrEP and contraception be used at the same time?”
- “Can I use an IUD while I am breastfeeding?”
Moreover, ChatHRP is still in beta phase and is more focused on professional users. So, if ChatHRP is unable to respond to the information at that time, you are encouraged to provide feedback to strengthen the effectiveness of the system.
Thanks to the support of Global Affairs Canada funds, ChatHRP has become a symbol of global commitment to ensuring safe, accurate and inclusive access to SRHR information.
