During the annual WWDC event, Apple indeed revealed a brand new AI system for all the operating systems. But in this news article, we will be taking a look at all the new iOS 18 features on how iPhone users can enjoy customisation further.

Customising your Home Screen, Lock Screen and Control Centre

On iOS 18, iPhone users will soon have new ways to customise the Home Screen, Lock Screen and Control Centre even further. Of course, this is nothing new for Android users but anyway, iPhone users will be able to arrange apps and widgets in any spot on the Home Screen. The app icons and widgets can also have a new look with different colour effects. The two controls at the bottom of the Lock Screen can also be customised.

Next, Apple has redesigned the Control Centre for easier accessibility. Users can also customise it to their most-used controls and the ability to easily swipe between each. Additionally, supported third-party apps can be added to the new Control Centre as well and users can customise how the controls are laid out, including adjusting them to the ideal size and creating entirely new groups.

Photo App redesigned

On the other hand, the Photos App will be getting revamped. Similarly to Google Photos, iPhone users can easily find their old photos and videos by browsing by themes without organising them into albums. Plus, collections can be pinned to keep favourites easily accessible. A new carousel view presents highlights that update each day and feature favourite people, pets, places, and more.

Messages personalised

Messages on the iPhone will also get an all-new text effect for any letter, word, phrase, or emoji with dynamic, animated appearances. Like WhatsApp, users can better express tone by adding formatting like bold, underline, italics, and strikethrough. Tapbacks expand to include any emoji or sticker, and now users can compose a message and schedule to send it at a later time. The Messages app now supports RCS for more reliable group messaging compared to SMS and MMS, as well as satellite support.

There are a lot of new features announced for iOS 18, such as Mail being enhanced to categorising and sorting incoming mails, Message, Safari with giving a summary without going into the content, better Privacy and Passwords App securities, and many, many more. You can check out all the details in Apple Newsroom right over here.
