Want to see Malaysia's first locally built flying car this year in 2019?

Sorry folks, not Malaysia's first flying car but this is the Terrafugia TF-X concept

In a somewhat surprise statement, Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md. Yusof, Entrepreneur Development Minister of Malaysia said that Malaysia will showcase their first flying car by this year of 2019, and it will be developed by local companies. According to him and the New Straits Times, there is already a prototype, and that they “will use local capabilities to build the flying car…”, with foreign parties only involved as consultants for safety features and procedures.

Set to be used for agriculture and aerospace, there was no mention about which flying car model they'd be following, but Terrafugia, a Geely subsidized company has already come out with working prototypes like their Terrafugia Transition (5 years ago). There's been no news as to how much they might actually cost but considering the prices of aircraft, we'd think it would be just as high as your usual million dollar sports car.

If you were one of Malaysia's super rich, would you want one of Malaysia's flying cars? We imagine if we give it to our ministers, at least they won't make our traffic jams worse. Stay tuned to TechNave.com for more tech news.
