With AI all the rage these days, it seems that WhatsApp will be getting an AI-powered chat this year and is in development now. According to sources, the new AI tool was designed to offer users a space to explore and interact with it within the app.
To no one's surprise, Meta developed the AI-powered features since it is owned by the tech giant. What we can expect is AI-powered chats, which users can use to have a sense of control and personalisation in their WhatsApp experience. You can see in the screenshot below how a user describes his or her own unique AI character.
Sources say the user can decide whether the AI character should focus on productivity, entertainment or provide personal assistance. Additionally, WhatsApp plans to offer tips for users who might need some inspiration in creating the AI character. Although it's currently in development on Android, WhatsApp is planning to make this AI tool available to all users.
Whatever is typed out by the user in the description is very important, as it will shape the AI's personality. The information will be used by WhatsApp to shape the behaviour and interactions to be in line with the user's expectations. Users also have to define the AI's role and main objective, as it will refine the AI's personality better.
