Recently, PayNet.my listed WeChat Pay as one of the alternatives for QR payments in Malaysia. That said, what should you know about it?
A more convenient way for WeChat users to pay
For your information, existing WeChat Pay users from China can continue to scan the DuitNow QR code in Malaysia and make payments. Apart from Malaysia, WeChat Pay has also now started supporting universal payment codes in Thailand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and South Korea.

Additionally, this makes it easier for WeChat Pay users to continue using the same digital wallet when on vacation or working abroad. To recap, WeChat Pay was previously available in Malaysia before the Chinese company reduced its focus on the local market.
With this integration, it is expected to further facilitate Chinese tourists to Malaysia, while enabling cross-platform payments easily and without the hassle of having to deal with multiple digital wallets.
