WhatsApp has rolled out beta version 2.25.22.22 for Android via the Google Play Beta Program. The new update introduces a disappearing timer feature for the “About” status section, allowing users to control how long their profile note remains visible.
What happened
With this update, WhatsApp now lets users set a visibility timer for their “About” status. This means you can choose how long the note is shown—options include 30 minutes, 1 day, or a custom duration of up to one month.
This addition aims to help users keep their status relevant and time-sensitive.
Once a timer is set, the status will be displayed more prominently at the top of chat windows, making it easier for your contacts to view without having to open your profile. This can be especially useful for quick updates or temporary messages.
Users can still edit or delete their status before the timer expires. After expiration, the status is automatically removed but remains accessible in a private status history section, offering users a way to revisit previous updates without cluttering their current profile.
