We have talked about WhatsApp users being able to create and share their own sticker packs within the app. In this latest development, the WhatsApp team will roll out a revamped emoji reaction interface in its latest Android beta update, across chats, groups, and channels.

According to the WABetaInfo, the update features a new grid layout for channels, reducing scrolling and improving readability, as well as a new Emoji Reaction Layout and Test Sticker Reactions. In other words, instead of using the traditional emoji reactions, you can put your own stickers in the reaction bar. As seen in a recently shared screenshot, this upcoming update will let users select any sticker as a reaction.

Currently, users can only react with a limited set of default emojis and a few recently used ones. The new feature will support all sticker types, including those from the official WhatsApp Sticker Store, third-party stickers imported from external apps, and user-saved stickers. Animated stickers, including those built with the Lottie Framework, will also be supported.

WhatsApp has not confirmed a release date, nor has any mention of the WhatsApp iOS side. More details will be shared as development progresses.
