According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing a highly anticipated update in its TestFlight beta for iOS (v25.19.10.74) that introduces multi-account switching. If implemented, it will be a big step toward seamless personal and professional account management on the iPhone.
Handle Multiple Numbers in One App
While there's no launch date yet for this feature but once it rolls out, users will be able to add and manage a second WhatsApp account directly from settings (linked via QR code or registered under a new number). Users can also toggle instantly between profiles without logging out or restarting; each account retains its own chats, notification settings, backups, and preferences.
To prevent confusion when using two accounts, incoming messages will clearly indicate the account they belong to, showing the account name in notifications. Tapping a notification will automatically switch to that profile and open the relevant chat.
On that note, this feature seems to be intended for the iPhone. The reason is that most Android devices don't have eSIM support yet. With eSIM support enabling multiple numbers on a single iPhone, this will allow users to rely on separate Business accounts or third-party apps.
What to Expect Next
This feature is still in development and not available to public testers just yet. We will keep an eye out for future beta releases as WhatsApp refines the multi?account switcher ahead of a wider launch. Stay tuned for the official news only at TechNave.com.
