As you may know, WhatsApp can be accessed on a PC without a smartphone. The desktop version is still considered in beta, with new features being added as time goes on. And it seems WhatsApp wants to keep users informed in a more official way.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will be adding an official WhatsApp chat account to WhatsApp Desktop. This verified account delivers tips for the desktop app, official announcements, and shoutouts for the latest features. Messages from this account will be read-only, so you can't respond to them with your queries. However, you can block or mute them if you want to.

You'll be able to share contacts too

Besides that, WhatsApp is also working on a few other features for the desktop app. One of them is the ability to share contact cards with other people. The update is already available via the Microsoft Store, albeit limited to selected users. In addition, users will soon be able to create polls with up to 12 options.

We can expect WhatsApp to add more features in the coming months, but is there one that you feel the app needs to prioritise now? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
