WhatsApp has introduced a new Schedule Call feature that allows users to set up group calls ahead of time directly from the Calls tab.

This update includes the ability to invite contacts or entire groups, manage attendees, and send notifications, making it easier to coordinate discussions.

The move brings WhatsApp closer to platforms like Zoom and Google Meet, while keeping the familiar simplicity that most users prefer.

New features

The Schedule Call option is available through the ‘+’ button in the Calls tab. Users can choose a date and time, then share the scheduled call with selected contacts or group chats.

Once scheduled, the call appears in a dedicated section where participants can see the attendee list and add the event to their calendars. Notifications are sent to participants shortly before the call starts.

WhatsApp has also added new in-call interaction tools. Participants can now use a hand raise option to indicate they want to speak without interrupting the flow of conversation.

But that's not all

Additionally, reaction emojis can be sent during calls for quick, non-verbal feedback. Call link creators will also receive real-time alerts when someone joins using their shared link.

These updates aim to make group calls more organised and engaging, whether for casual catch-ups or work-related meetings. All calls continue to be protected with WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption to ensure privacy and security.
