WhatsApp announces Android to iOS chat migration feature is now live

WhatsApp has rolled out another most-requested feature, allowing Android users to transfer their chats to iOS devices. Migrating chat data from iOS to Android was made possible with the release of the iPhone-to-Android chat migration tool about a year ago. Therefore, we're glad that the platform finally figured out how to let the users do it the other way around.

Moving data between devices with the same operating system is as easy as ABC. However, when it comes to cross-platform, it raises the difficulty to another level, which could be why we're only getting the feature today. Furthermore, users will also need to satisfy the requirements before transferring the chats, which can be found in the support document, so it's definitely more complicated.

It's worth mentioning that peer payment messages and WhatsApp call history won't get migrated, but the old Android device will still have the data after the migration. If the device no longer belongs to you as you're selling it or for other reasons, you'll want to erase the data by performing a factory reset.

We believe this would make many people's lives easier, what do you think? Leave a comment to let us know your thoughts, and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more tech reports.
