For the longest time, having a compatible WhatsApp app on the iPad has been in the rumour mill. Initially, it was supposed to link up with other Apple devices (including an iPhone) but there was no release date. However, it seems that a beta will be coming soon for iPad users.

According to WAbetainfo.com, an iPad-compatible beta version can be installed from the TestFlight app. If you happen to be an iPad beta tester, now this is a good time but you will need a beta iOS version of the app installed on your iPhone and iPad first. If you have these already, simply go to the WhatsApp settings on your iPhone -> Linked Device -> Link a Device to scan the QR code with your iPad.

After that, you should be able to use WhatsApp on your iPad with your iPhone connected online. Like before, it works exactly like the multi-device connectivity so any messages sent or received will happen on your iPhone or Android as well. WAbetainfo.com also said all messages and calls are protected with end-to-end encryption.

However, since it's still in beta version. That means some features may not work properly. This includes viewing and posting status updates, as well as live location functions. So with this, WhatsApp will continue on improving the beta version further.
