WhatsApp could be getting Facebook-like message reactions soon

When it comes to social media platforms, we're usually there to enjoy content from other users. And while we're at it, we often express our thoughts through different mechanics, such as the reactions in Facebook. Well, what if more platforms got reactions?

According to WABetaInfo, sources have found that WhatsApp might add message reactions to the platform in the future. If you recall, Facebook now owns WhatsApp, so the messaging app could be getting Facebook's message reactions. These reactions include 'Like', 'Haha', 'Angry', and more.

As a reminder, reactions are basically emojis that you can attach to a piece of content to express your... well, reactions. We're assuming that WhatsApp plans to have reactions to work across all types of content. That includes regular messages, images, and voice messages. Currently, the feature is being tested by a small group of beta users.

Personally, I love this idea. Sometimes you don't have anything to say, but want to show that you're paying attention to conversations. In such cases, message reactions would be a great substitute.
