Through the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android 2.25.4.5 available on the Google Play Store, WhatsApp is reportedly developing a feature with the ability to automatically detect the language of messages for translation purposes. So, what should you know about it?

As shared in the screenshot, users need to download certain language packs to enable automatic language detection. With these language packs, users do not need an Internet connection to perform translations as the process is carried out offline.

Additionally, this step ensures that no data is sent to an external server, thus ensuring that message privacy is preserved and maintaining end-to-end encryption. It is understood that these language packs can be deleted at any time through WhatsApp's storage settings. If you want to translate into another language in the future, users simply need to re-download the required language pack.

Moreover, this feature will be very useful in group conversations, where multiple users may be sending messages in different languages. Instead of having to select a specific language to translate to, users can instead use automatic language detection to simplify the translation process. Currently, the feature is still under development and is expected to be available in a future update.
