WhatsApp is developing a feature that will allow you to link profiles from various social media platforms on the app. The move is part of a broader update aimed at improving user experience. It also gives users the freedom to share their social media profiles on other platforms. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, you can choose to add links via the Profile Links feature from various social media to your WhatsApp Messenger Standard accounts. The new feature will be available in the profile settings section and can be modified for privacy purposes, including removing links at any time.

Meanwhile, if you do not want to display their social media profiles on WhatsApp will have the option to not add any links. Instagram is said to be the first app to be supported before expanding to other platforms in the future. Additionally, a similar feature is already available on WhatsApp Business.

However, there is an important difference in the process for adding to a WhatsApp Messenger Standard account. Where WhatsApp Business users who want to link their account to Instagram will need to go through the ownership verification process before the link can be added. Meanwhile, adding a link to any WhatsApp Messenger Standard account does not require such verification and can be done as usual.
