Today, there is a new WhatsApp update available on both iOS and Android devices. The new update happens to be group voice calls upgraded up to 32 participants, which is also one of the features for WhatsApp Communities coming to fruition.

The new group voice calls work similarly to iOS Messenger FaceTime, whereby participants can choose to join the group voice calls or not. If they want to join the conversation halfway, they can, all they need to do is tap on the "Join" button that is held on the top right of the group chat.

Besides the new group voice calls upgrade, the social audio layout has an updated interface that includes the speaker highlight and waveforms. The voice message bubbles and info screens for your contacts and groups' design are also updated, alongside some user interface improvements for your favourited media in the WhatsApp gallery.

As we reported before, the group voice calls function is part of the upcoming WhatsApp Communities that the development team is working on. There are still three more features coming - emoji reactions to certain messages, a 2GB file sharing and admin delete on certain spam messages. It will take some time so we just have to wait for the new updates.
