For most WhatsApp users, the Multi-device feature was the one that's worth noting in 2021. But business users are all hoping for a way to monetise the platform, and the company has been working on that for months. Now, we have some hints on ad creation for the platform.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp developers are working on a way to allow WhatsApp Business users to push ads to Facebook. These ads can be linked to individual WhatsApp accounts, providing customers with an additional means to contact the company. This feature will be accessible via the WhatsApp Business settings that were released recently.
Currently, this feature is limited to a small group of beta testers on Android and iOS. You can pick a file from your device or your company's WhatsApp catalogue (if available) to create the ad. This ad can then be pushed to Facebook and would reach a certain amount of users, depending on the budget you've set. As you can tell, the concept is similar to boosting a post on Facebook.
In my opinion, this is just an alternative to a Facebook company account with an active admin that replies to messages. While WhatsApp is widely used in Malaysia, is this feature needed? Share your thoughts in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
