WhatsApp is adding a new feature to let you choose who can see your "Last Seen" status

In the world of social messaging, having been "Seen" without a reply is probably not a good sign. WhatsApp may change that, though, as the development team just submitted a new update in the Google Play Beta program to solve that.

According to WABetaInfo.com, the WhatsApp team is looking into giving users more control in terms of privacy. How this can be achieved is by introducing a "My Contacts Except..." option for Last Seen (2.21.20.10), Profile Photo (2.21.21.2) and About (2.21.21.8). A feature that has been going on for months, it allows the user to choose who can and can't see your information on the platform.

For example, you can see the screenshot above on who can see your "Last Seen" status. If you disable your "Last Seen" status for a certain contact, you won't be able to see their status too. The new beta update also doesn't apply to Profile Photo and About. It's pretty straightforward.

Since it's in beta testing, only a handful of Android WhatsApp users will be selected for this. If you're lucky, you can check out your Privacy Settings to see if you're selected. It will take some time before the update rolls out so do stay tuned for that at TechNave.com.
