We have seen the news about a future WhatsApp update that could allow multiple devices to access one account. Although it is unsure whether it will allow us to use the account on other devices without our phones being online, it is still a good update for those who are constantly switching between devices. Now, it appears that the messaging app will bring another update that some of us have been longing for which is to mute a group chat forever.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on an update that allows users to mute chats forever. From the screenshot, we can see that the "one year" option will be replaced with an "always". For those who feel like one year is not enough to deal with an "annoying group chat", this update is dedicated to you.

At the moment, it is impossible for a WhatsApp user to mute group chats or a private chat forever. The options that are currently available for users to mute chats are eight hours, one week, or one year being the longest. However, we think one year is definitely enough to ghost someone else unless he or she is a persistent one! (jk!)
