WhatsApp is developing a new Community feature to form new sub-groups within a group chat room

What is Community and how is that different from WhatsApp groups? According to WABetaInfo.com, the team just recently tested out this beta test and it's still under development. However, there is a preview so here's what they learnt.

From the preview, the WABetaInfo team discovered that this Community feature allows group admins to have even more control in WhatsApp groups such as grouping other people in other groups inside an existing group. Sounds familiar? Because it's exactly like how Zoom and Microsoft Teams work with smaller sub-groups. It can be a private or public room chat.

Moreover, people seem to be able to create a Community chat which is a private room protected by end-to-end encryption. There's also a Community icon to distinguish itself from the normal group chat and admins can send messages and arrange the groups at the same time. It's also said that there are some tools to help admins to manage efficiently and send an invite to users via Community Invite Link.

Since it's still under development, we may or may not see it in the future. It's currently in beta testing on both Android and iOS but no release date was given. But what do you think of this feature? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
