Multi-device support for WhatsApp with different devices exists already, but the WhatsApp team is apparently working on a second version of the multi-device function. It's said that the team has been planning this since last year and here's what we know so far.

According to WABetaInfo.com, you can see that there's a "Register Device as Companion" on the screenshot when you try to add WhatsApp on another smartphone. In other words, you could use another phone to open your current WhatsApp account without any issues after linking it.

On top of that, an Android tablet is compatible with this function as well but we don't know exactly how many devices can it add up. It also seems that the development is only intended for Android phones for now, so there's no word for iOS yet. The main phone needs to be present for the link via QR code.

The WhatsApp team has gotten really busy by adding lots of new features, the latest one was the upgraded group voice calls where a chat room can add up to 32 participants at once to talk. No release date has been revealed so we will just have to wait and see. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
