WhatsApp's latest beta update for Android now extends the draft feature, previously limited to chat messages, to status updates. So, what should you know about it?
More flexibility and customisations
For your information, this update allows you to save unfinished statuses directly in the status editor, allowing them to resume at any time without losing their progress. This includes text, drawings, stickers, and photos that are currently being edited, making it easier for users who are distracted or want to refine their status later.
Additionally, a new save button and prompt when exiting the editor help prevent accidental loss of work and eliminate the need to send drafts to yourself. WhatsApp also ensures that all elements, such as overlays, text formatting, and positioning, are retained exactly as they were when they were left, providing a more stable and flexible editing experience.
Moreover, by making status drafts more accessible, this feature helps users plan and manage their content more carefully without feeling rushed to publish. The feature is currently available to a few beta testers in version 2.25.37.1 and is being improved before rolling out to more users.
