WhatsApp launched a new feature for iOS that will prevent users from taking screenshots of profile pictures. WABetaInfo shared an image which revealed a message on the screen informing you that taking profile picture screenshots has been disabled. That said, what should you know about it?

For your information, the introduction of this feature is expected to provide an additional layer of privacy protection by preventing you from capturing and distributing profile pictures without the owner's permission. While individuals can still take pictures using other devices or cameras, disabling the screenshot function in the app will significantly reduce the unauthorised sharing of profile pictures.

Besides the profile picture screenshot restriction, WhatsApp is also testing a new feature on Android that will allow you to quickly filter and re-access your favourite conversations from the chat tab. These feature enhancements demonstrate WhatsApp's ongoing efforts to improve user experience and privacy measures within the app.

Overall, this initiative aims to reduce the risks associated with profile pictures being misused or distributed without permission. Hopefully, everything goes well because every iOS user in Malaysia will be delighted to have this feature.
