According to WhatsApp, voice message transcripts are generated on the user's device and voice messages remain protected by end-to-end encryption features. No one, including WhatsApp, can listen to voice messages or see the content of voice message transcripts.
Availability-wise, the voice message transcription feature will roll out globally in the coming weeks, with support for multiple language options to begin with. Despite this, WhatsApp plans to add more language options in the coming months.
To find out if you have received this feature, access it through Settings > Chats > Voice message transcript. Then, hold on to the voice message and click "transcribe." We have yet to confirm other details on this feature, so we should wait for more confirmation from WhatsApp.
