Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is likely to introduce a new feature soon which allows users to schedule group calls in group chats. This is after the feature was spotted on the latest beta version of the WhatsApp app.

Spotted by WABetaInfo, the feature was available to some beta testers on the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.17.7. The feature, aptly called ‘Schedule Call’ allows you to choose the call subject and the scheduled call date.

Users are also given the option to select the type of group call, be it voice or video. After scheduling a group call, an event will automatically be added to the group chat and those who decided to join the call will be notified 15 minutes prior to the call.

As it’s in the beta version of the app, the feature is likely to make its way to the full version of WhatsApp, though nothing is confirmed as of yet. Until then, do stay tuned to TechNave for the latest development on this and for more trending tech news.
