Voice chat is not something new but in this short news, WhatsApp just announced that the voice chat will be rolled out to large group chats. Large groups are referred to as chat rooms with 33 people or more.
While a group call can ring every member in a group chat, voice chats start with an in-chat bubble which you can tap to join in. With this, each member can share some big news, and private or exciting discussions without disturbing others.

Call controls also remain embedded at the top of the chat, so you can quickly unmute, hang up or message the group without having to leave the conversation. In addition, all voice chats in groups are also embedded with end-to-end encryption by default.
