Today, WhatsApp has announced a new wave of features aimed at making chats easier to manage, more flexible across devices, and smarter with AI integration. The update focuses on solving everyday pain points such as storage limitations, switching phones, and juggling multiple accounts, while also introducing new AI-powered tools for messaging and media.
The New AI Features
One of the most practical additions is improved storage control. Users can now find and delete large files directly within individual chats instead of clearing entire conversations. There is also an option to remove only media files while keeping text messages intact, making it easier to free up space without losing important chat history.
WhatsApp is also introducing new AI-powered features powered by Meta. Users can edit photos directly within chats, including removing unwanted elements, changing backgrounds, or applying different styles before sending. At the same time, the Writing Help feature can suggest replies based on conversation context to make messaging faster and more convenient.
Other Noteworthy Features
WhatsApp is also expanding its chat transfer feature to support seamless migration between iOS and Android devices. Previously limited to the same platform, the updated tool now allows users to move conversations, photos, and videos across ecosystems in just a few taps, removing one of the biggest barriers when switching phones.
On the other hand, users can now log into two WhatsApp accounts on a single iPhone, matching functionality that has already been available on Android. This allows for easier separation of work and personal chats without needing multiple devices. To make switching clearer, the app displays the active account’s profile picture within the interface.
Lastly, WhatsApp is adding smarter sticker suggestions. As users type emojis, the app will recommend relevant stickers that better match the intended tone or emotion, making chats more expressive with minimal effort.
Rolling Out Now To Users Worldwide
WhatsApp says these features are rolling out gradually and will become available to all users over the coming weeks. So do keep an eye out for the upcoming software update in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, respectively. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
