Voice messages are pretty common in Malaysia these days, so many of us are used to it. But sometimes you don't have the time to listen to the messages, which is when a transcript would be more useful. Fortunately, WhatsApp realizes that.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp plans to add a function to transcribe voice messages. Basically, you will get a text version of all voice messages you receive. In our opinion, this improves the convenience of voice messages and allows users to quickly understand the contents of all messages without tapping the play button. It's also a useful accessibility feature for those with hearing issues.

Of course, the feature is now only available to beta testers. It's also limited to five languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Hindi. However, more language data packages will be added in the future. We expect WhatsApp to officially roll out the feature to all users in the coming weeks.
