WhatsApp users can now create avatars to use as stickers or profile pic

Previously, we reported that Avatar is coming soon to WhatsApp and now, lo and behold, the feature is now available on the popular messaging platform. Announced by WhatsApp today, Avatar is a new and personalised way to express oneself on the app. 

In a statement, WhatsApp elaborated that a user’s avatar is a digital version of the user that can be created from billions of combinations of diverse hairstyles, facial features and outfits. On WhatsApp, users can now use their personalised avatar as their profile photo or choose from one of 36 custom stickers reflecting many different emotions and actions.

The Meta-owned company further said that it will continue to introduce and deliver more style enhancements. These include lighting, shading, hairstyle textures, and more that will make avatars even better over time. 

With the ability to really customise users’ appearance with skin tone, hair, body type and outfits, among other things, Avatar can really help WhatsApp users represent themselves in all their diversity. The statement further announced that the feature will be rolling out to users everywhere from today.
