WhatsApp now informs that the messaging application will only support iOS version 15.1 and newer, starting May 5, 2025 . According to MacRumors. this means users running versions earlier than iOS 15.1 will no longer be able to use the app in the future. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, WhatsApp currently provides support for devices running Android 5.0 or iOS 12 and above. However, with the upcoming update, the messaging app will require at least iOS 15.1 . This change will affect mainly iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users. It follows that the last iOS update available for the device model was iOS 12.5.7.
Meanwhile, users with newer iPhone models who are still running a version below iOS 15.1 are advised to update to the latest version, to allow you to continue using WhatsApp as usual. For Android devices, no changes or any related announcements have been made so far, and WhatsApp can continue to be used as usual.
