Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp may implement a new feature on the app soon, which is the ability to filter group chats. This is after it was spotted on the latest beta version of the Android app.

As spotted by WABetaInfo, the new feature was part of the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.19.7 update. With it, users get a new filter that allows them to get a list of their groups by excluding individual chats.

Furthermore, WhatsApp has also renamed the “Personal” filter to “Contacts” for a clearer distinction between individual and group chats. Besides that, the “Business” filter has been removed.

This revamped filter allows you to organise chats faster as it’s pretty common for users to join multiple groups for differing purposes. Given that it’s already in the beta version, the feature is likely to make its way to the full version of the app soon.
