Do you have something to show someone on WhatsApp but don't want them to save it? Whatever the reason could be, there could be instances where the option to block others from auto-saving media you've sent. Fortunately, WhatsApp seems to think so and has plans to implement such a feature.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing a new privacy feature that lets users prevent media from being saved auto-saved by another user's device, including images and videos. By the way, this isn't exactly a new feature on WhatsApp, as the app already blocks images from being auto-saved for chats or chat groups with disappearing messages enabled.

However, it was not mentioned whether this feature prevents others from manually saving the media. It also doesn't prevent others from using the screenshot or screen recording functions. Regardless, this security could reduce the risk of your media being exported by compromised devices.

The usefulness of this feature remains to be seen, but you can try it now with the latest WhatsApp beta update (version 2.25.10.14) on Android. If you've tried it, let us know whether you find it relevant!
