Have you ever thought of holding a voice chat with a large group of people? That's easy on several platforms like Discord, which has a 100-participant voice chat limit. But what if you wanted to do this on a mobile messaging app? Well, WhatsApp will let you do so soon.
WABetaInfo has found an update for the voice chat feature in the beta version 2.23.16.19 of WhatsApp for Android. The source claimed the update will allow groups of up to 32 people to participate in a voice chat session. When a new voice chat is initiated, chat members will be notified and can join at any time.
What's good is the app wouldn't ring all chat group members like a voice call would. Instead, the chat group's members would receive a silent push notification. The voice chat will have end-to-end encryption, so only participants can listen to the contents.
Currently, the voice chat feature is only available to those with access to WhatsApp beta. But an official version of the update is expected to roll out very soon. In other words, this is the last test phase for WhatsApp to find any remaining bugs before releasing the update.
