In this latest update from WABetaInfoWhatsApp is developing one of the biggest visual overhauls in the app’s iOS avatar. The source reported that the update introduces Apple’s new Liquid Glass design language, first unveiled with iOS 26, bringing depth, layering, and fluidity to the messaging experience for the first time.

“Liquid Glass” UX: A New Visual Era

As part of Meta’s ongoing push to make WhatsApp feel more native and cohesive within the iOS ecosystem, the headline feature of version 25.28.75 is Liquid Glass, which integrates dynamic transparency, background reflections, and depth effects directly into WhatsApp’s interface. The new look aims to make the app feel lighter, more responsive, and visually aligned with Apple’s system-wide aesthetics.

This includes a redesigned tab bar that now floats above the main content with a semi-translucent surface that subtly blurs what’s behind it. Each icon reacts to taps with smooth animations, while the indicator highlighting the current tab adjusts dynamically to maintain clarity and precision. These redesigns are fully compatible with both light and dark modes, automatically adapting to user preferences.

Keyboard, Buttons, and Menu Overhaul

WhatsApp now adopts iOS’ native translucent keyboard that blends with background content, offering a more cohesive typing experience. Buttons throughout the app now feature subtle background reflections and smoother interactions, giving the interface a more dynamic feel. The context menu has also been refreshed, with more translucent layers and adaptive animations, creating a user interface that feels both modern and intuitive.

UI Consistency and Future Updates

While the majority of the app’s interface has been upgraded to Liquid Glass, some areas — notably the chat bar — remain untouched in this update. Meta says full integration of the new design is expected in future releases. As with any major UI refresh, the changes are rolling out gradually: some users already have access, while broader availability is expected in the coming weeks.

This update coincides with several other useful features polishing WhatsApp’s iOS experience, such as Live Photos support and on-device message translations, but the Liquid Glass visual overhaul is the most noticeable change, showcasing Meta’s commitment to UI innovation and design coherence within Apple’s ecosystem.

When Is It Releasing?

No timeline has been given yet, but it's currently available to some iOS beta users. Also, since it is a Liquid Glass redesign, we don't expect to see this happening on Android devices. But what do you think? Let us know, and do stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
