Microsoft announced an update for Windows 11 that instantly turns all Copilot+ PCs into voice-controlled assistants. So, what should you know about it?
A new way to personalise your PC experience
For your information, this new feature is powered by Copilot Voice and Copilot Vision. With Copilot Voice, you can give voice commands to it to give suggestions on how to use a piece of software that you may not be very familiar with. With the help of Copilot Vision, you can instruct Copilot to look at Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents and have it suggest what needs to be changed to make them better.
Moreover, you can summon this “AI assistant” by saying “Hey Copilot,” and it also has a feature to provide suggestions while you are in a video game session. This in-game assistance feature is also supported on the newly launched ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X mobile PC consoles.
But wait, there’s more
Next, Microsoft will expand the Copilot Actions feature that allows Copilot to interact with websites, software and files contained on the PC. For example, you can tell Copilot to edit 10 photos from a vacation and then send them to family members via email.
All of this will be done in the background while the owner does other more important tasks in the office, for example. This AI agent can be monitored at all times to ensure it does what it is instructed to do correctly.
With the introduction of these various artificial intelligence features and Copilot agents, Microsoft is trying to entice people to migrate to their platform just days after support for Windows 10 was discontinued.
