World's first facial recognition function officially launched on the airasia Super App

Today, AirAsia has officially announced the world's first facial recognition function for the airasia Super App. From the newsroom, it's not only fully digital for travelling but as well as for security and safety for all airasia passengers.

Marketed as FACES, it serves as a facial recognition function as aforementioned on the app to order and pay for travel and lifestyle offerings. According to Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, Bo Lingam, he said the company has already replaced the staff's cards with FACES technology to access facilities. Guests flying can also check-in online anywhere, anytime with FACES.

To add to that, airasia Super App users can use FACES to book hotels, order food, deliveries, e-hailing and others. The company confirmed that the function will soon be integrated across every airport in Malaysia within 12 months. AirAsia also plans to implement FACES in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and all other key markets.
