X introduces new controversial feature - You can no longer reply to Verified Accounts, only Premium X users can

Elon Musk strikes again. After his previous shenanigans with Twitter and so forth, the CEO of X introduced another controversial feature for the app. Apparently, you can’t reply to Verified Account posts if you are a non-premium user.

To use this feature, you need to subscribe to the Premium X plan and relaunch the app. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to update the app. As you could expect, this feature aims to prevent a tweet from receiving unnecessary negative comments or reactions.

The introduction of this feature could be X’s knee-jerk reaction to the current conflict between Israel and Palestine. Verified accounts which voiced their support for Israel have been flooded with negative reactions and replies from X netizens. Thanks to this feature, the amount of negative comments has been reduced.

Honestly, this launch of this feature feels petty and unnecessary. If anything, everyone should be responsible for what they post online. And everyone should be aware of the consequences. “Kerana mulut, badan binasa” (What you say can destroy you).
