
Nintendo just announced the Switch 2, and while no official games have been announced for the platform yet, the Xbox team is reportedly gearing up to launch some big titles like Diablo 4, Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator to Nintendo. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, Activision, a company now owned by Microsoft is committed to bringing the Call of Duty game series to the Switch 2 through its agreement with the FTC. In a recent interview with Gamertag Radio, Xbox Head Phil Spencer confirmed full support for the Switch 2. He also revealed that he had exchanged messages with Shuntaro Furukawa, Nintendo President, following the announcement of the new console.
"I congratulate Furukawa-san. I'm also grateful that the Switch 2 screen is bigger, which my old eyes appreciate," Spencer said jokingly.
He also praised Nintendo's innovation and expressed his confidence in the success of the Switch 2, adding: "Nintendo is a great team in this industry. The Switch was a huge success, and I believe the Switch 2 will also be a phenomenon."
Moreover, Xbox's support for Nintendo's platform is part of their strategy to bring more games to multiple devices. Since early 2024, Xbox has announced plans to release games like Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, and Grounded to other platforms including PlayStation and Nintendo.
Additionally, Microsoft confirmed that an Xbox mobile gaming console is currently in development, with Microsoft planning to offer a better Xbox and Windows experience. It's not certain whether or not they will launch their handheld console in the future considering the Switch 2 will support Xbox games as well.
