Xiaomi Malaysia has teased that the Xiaomi 12 Lite will officially be coming to our shores soon after it revealed that our country would have its very own brand ambassador for the smartphone. Posted on its official Facebook page, Xiaomi Malaysia is running a contest for netizens to guess who the ambassador is, whereby you stand a chance to win a Redmi Watch 2 Lite.
Contests aside, given that there would be a local ambassador for the 12 Lite, it means that the device is indeed set for release on our shores soon. Furthermore, Xiaomi Malaysia has even today invited local media to an official launch event for an undisclosed range of products on 18 August 2022, one of which may well be the 12 Lite.
Previously, the 12 Lite was launched globally by Xiaomi and features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC paired with either 6 or 8GB of RAM. Other notable specs include a 6.55-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, 108MP main + 8MP ultrawide + 2mp macro triple-camera setup, 4300mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging and 5G connectivity.
The smartphone is already available in our neighbouring country Indonesia since 19 July 2022 and as it stands, we may be following suit soon. Well, we just have to wait until 18 August 2022 to find out!
